COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Ø      Delta Theta Chi Sorority- The National Executive Council of Delta Theta Chi Sorority has approved and is pleased to offer three educational scholarships: Two scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each from the National Memorial Scholarship Fund. One scholarship from the Marie Miller Graham Fund in the amount of $1,400 for 2007. Requirements are the following: High scholastic average, evidence of financial need, completion of the National Executive Council Application form (See Counselor), plans to enroll or current enrollment in an accredited college. Deadline is February 1, 2007    

 

Ø      Oklahoma Engineering Foundation, Incorporation- The Oklahoma Engineering Foundation (OEF) annually offers a number of scholarships to students having qualifications for success in engineering education.  OEF annually offers several scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000, which must be used in an engineering curriculum at Oklahoma State University, University of Oklahoma, University of Tulsa, Oklahoma Christian University, or Oral Roberts University. To qualify for an OEF scholarship a student MUST have a minimum GPA of 3.0, their ACT Composite score must be between 24 and 29 and their Math Component score must be 28 or better. This year a pre-qualification form and the application form itself are available only via the Internet. The web address is www.ospe.org. One should complete the application, print it, include required signatures and attachments, and then mail it to the appropriate scholarship coordinator. Scholarship application deadline is January 31, 2007.

 

Ø      Friends of Kim Jones Shelton-  Applicants must be graduates of a high school in central Oklahoma and have financial need particularly as it relates to a disability or challenging circumstances of the applicant or the applicant’s parent. Scholarship award is $500. The deadline is February 28, 2007.

 

Ø      President’s Leadership Scholarship- from the University of Central Oklahoma is approximately worth $19,000 over four years. The deadline for the application and supporting materials is February 1, 2007. For details and application go to www.ucok.edu.

 

Ø      KFC is now offering their Colonel’s Scholars Program- for qualifying seniors. Applicants must enroll in a public college or university within their state of residence, GPA of 2.75 or higher, pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and demonstrate financial need. The online application will be available from January 1, 2007- February 16, 2007 at www.kfcscholars.org. $5,000 a year possible.

 

Ø      2007 Sam Walton Community Scholarship- This award is $1000 for the student’s first year of undergraduate study at an approved accredited college or university. To qualify, the student must be a graduating senior and may not be a Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., or Sam’s Club Associate, or the child or dependent of an Associate. Deadline for entry is a postmark of January 12, 2007 of all required information to Scholarship Program Administrators as directed. Go to www.walmartfoundation.org for more details and information.
